Traipsing Through Toledo

(Written on Monday without internet. Posted today with internet.)

Today was spent exploring the beautiful city of Toledo. It felt good to get out of Madrid and head to a smaller city nearby. The views here are amazing and the cobblestone streets are lined with unique buildings. Check out these views!

This is disgusting. But proof we were there!

A church.
You should be proud that I remember the names of all of these buildings that I saw and get to share them with you! Ha. Not. I think I should start taking notes on the tours.

Cathedral in the main part of town.

Tribute to Toledo, Ohio!

I love the narrow streets lined with stunning buildings!

We went on a walking tour through the city, and I am now overloaded with the Spanish history that has presented to me IN Spanish during the last two days! We saw two beautiful churches and a synagogue. One of the churches is pictured above, but they want you to fly to Spain in order to see the other. Sorry.

We found good sandwiches for lunch in a cafĂ© (my first good meal since I’ve been here. I kept striking out!) Then, since we are still trying to adjust to this crazy time change and were exhausted, Shelly and I, and two other girls in our group, chose to hang out on a bench in the sun in one of the main plazas.  It was a quick overview of this city, but an enjoyable day!

We are now relaxing at our hotel. We are excited to find that we have access to the internet in our rooms and we are not given a time limit. This is a beautiful thing. Our room is also warmer than our last one and quieter. Ten points to Toledo!

I am so eager to get to Malaga tomorrow and finally be able to start settling in. This weekend has been really tough making the adjustment to being in Spain and knowing that neither Madrid or Toledo are our final destinations has made it even more difficult for me. I am eager to settle into a routine and see where I will be spending the rest of this semester!
